INTRODUCTION/CONSULTATION
The project begins by establishing what you want to do.
SCOPE OF WORK
This is a written definition, in general terms, of the work
to be done.
DESIGN CONTRACT
The written agreement describes the Scope of Work, fee
structure and terms of what is, and isn’t, included.
DESIGN MEETING
This is a detailed review and planning meeting for all specific design
requirements for your home.
PRELIMINARY DESIGNS
Series of design presentations, including floor plans and elevations, for
review and revision.
PROJECT TEAM
Begin to assemble members of other disciplines,
such as Contractor, Interior designer, Landscape designer and, of course, Lender.
CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS
Preparation of all technical drawings, including site plan,
floor plans, exterior elevations and structural details.
BID PLANS
Construction drawings to be 80-90% complete so as to have

PERMIT PLANS
Final completion of construction drawings, with Structural
Engineer’s sign and seal, for building permit application.
CONSTRUCTION
